Specific Literature and Database Resources
Most of the following databases are available off-campus for UK faculty, staff, and students. Please use the off-campus access instructions for accessing the UK library system from off campuses locations.
Database | Comments |
Agricola | IDatabase which indexes primarily USDA-funded research in agricultural research journals and extension publications produced by the National Agriculture Library. |
Bioethicsline Plus | Comprehensive database on ethics. |
Biological Abstracts | Comprehensive database in the life sciences from 1980-present. |
CAB Abstracts | Indexes over 7,000 journals and includes comprehensive abstracts with content back to 1910. Most comprehensive agricultural research database and has international coverage. |
Medline | Includes all areas of medicine back to 1966. It has the same data as PubMed but in a different format. |
Current Contents Search | CC Search is the electronic version of Current Contents, providing access to tables of contents and bibliographic data from over 7,000 of the world's leading scientific and scholarly journals and approximately 2,000 books. |
PubMed | Maintained by the National Library of Medicine and is used by the life sciences and medical communities. Includes tutorials and MeSH browsing capabilities |
InfoKat | University of Kentucky Libraries online catalog, includes books, journals, government documents owned by the University of Kentucky. |
Web of Science | Electronic access to Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index, and Arts and Humanities Index from 1989 to date. |
