Dr. Michael Goodin

Professional Profile

In my laboratory we study the cell biology of plant-virus interactions, which involves international collaborations that have, in turn, provided travel and research opportunities for ABT students. As the instructor of ABT 101, I help to provide for (i) transitioning students from the standardized testing of elementary and secondary education to analytical thinking and scientific method-based inquiry essential for success in S.T.E.M. careers, (ii) a nurturing and secure environment as students adapt to new social, cultural and college norms, (iii) stimulating an appreciation for how science and society intersect, as well as the processes by which science is advanced and (iv) preparing students for taking responsibility towards a successful university experience and gainful employment.
